Because most of the people bitching about Turner don't even know what they're bitching about, or what he does. They think he designs Pokemon he didn't (like Alolan Golem), and some tards even think he's just the overall director. It's just a name /vp/ recognizes and latches on to. In gen 8's case at least he was the art director, so I can understand somebody blaming Turner on the designs of gen 8 mons. Other than that I agree. Lots of people do throw his name around aimlessly because they assume he designed a pokemon they dislike

Even then Sugimori was still the one to finalize the Pokemon designs for gen 8 just like always. When it comes to the Pokemon themselves there are multiple people that are involved in choosing who makes it.
