Guys help I'm almost an hour and a half in and they're just now telling me what a pokemon center is. Does it get any better??

Anon same, playing through UM on Citra and it's just so slow. I only played Sun when it first came out...forgot how slow the beginning was.

I've had difficulty caring about the story thus far because a good story in a game is meaningless if I don't have any interaction with it via gameplay.

First island is a big grudge with having a shitton long forced tutorials but it gets better after that
Gen 7 is my favorite gen but it hurts me so much how shit the first chunk of the game can be

For most of Akala and Ula Ula there isn't much interruption, just introductions to new characters and the usual evil team fights. The end of Ula Ula has more for the clinax but at that point you're almost done.

The atmosphere of Alola, the story and the overall comfiness is what makes up for it. Galar is like a stripped version of Alola, no comfiness, no story, no cutscenes, no good characters. They cut way too many corners.

No it doesn't. Alola has tidbits of interesting or compelling teasers but they're ultimately squandered and never get expanded on.
