THEY LITERALLY HAVE THOSE ANIMATIONS IN THE GAME NOWADAYS
THERE ARE ANIMATIONS IN SWSH FOR POKEMON FALLING ASLEEP AND WAKING UP IN CAMP, BUT THEY STILL JUST CLOSE THEIR FUCKIN' EYES IN BATTLE BECAUSE THEY'RE JUST THAT FUCKING LAZY
THE POTENTIAL ISN'T JUST IN REACH, THEY'RE IN THEIR F U C K I N G H A N D S

Maybe give an option to adjust the same settings with your opponent. Would be my first thought but hey I'm no online battle manager maybe some big brain at Nintendo or GF has a better idea.

Wow, just wow. Now that's a bad argument and speaks volumes for this community. A 20 something year old game is the standard for animations of one of the biggest gaming franchises today? Shouldn't be improved and more added today? Please don't embarass yourself in discussions anon.
Also to all you GF bootlikers: sooner or later they will add more "unnecessary" animations or even remake the battle system to keep up with their competition (somehow lol) especially after swsh. I bet it won't be the next games but maybe next gen if we're generous. And then all of you will rejoice and praise GF for raising the standards a liiittle bit higher than usual. I know this fanbase after all ;)

THIS bait again?
All he's saying is that if the animations in the main series were as quick and optimized as PBR, it wouldn't matter how many things had to be rendered because they would still end up faster than the game is now.
