Makuhita is a punching bag with boxing gloves and Hariyama has perfected his training and become a sumo sparring partner(its hands are meant to represent those big training pads coaches use to train hand to hand).
They're probably two of my favorite Fighting-type Pokemon in the series, but I wish theyhad more visual similarities to each other, even though their theme itself is very well done.
