So ehm...
why haven't they announced any new games yet?

My pic is heavily outdated, but they rarely go this long without at least announcing new games.
Will this be one of the longer gens?

DP remakes will almost definitely be this year's games, making Gen 8 3 years long like most generations. Then we'll probably get gen 9, DLC, and Let's Go Johto.

Anon, they never usually announce remakes till mid-year. That they also generally don't release a new title till November causes this, but having the DLC replace the rehash meant they had to announce earlier , meaning they have a longer gap between announcing the DLC and remake. Just relax, as long as it's not end of June, there's still plenty of time for them to reveal a new game for release at the end of the year.
