Assuming we’re getting DP remakes this year, why did they put the Sinnoh legendaries in SS? Was it to make their arrival less painfully obvious? Just to sell DLC?
I’m curious what people think the reasoning could be.

Just feels weird to catch the same legends twice in the same generation, though I suppose this has happened with the legendary birds in gen 4 (and in gen 7 if one is willing to treat lgpe as part of that)

First of all, with no sinnoh starters and no sinnoh fossils in, if they didn't include Sinnoh legendaries among all the others it would have been too much of a hint towards them.

Secondly, It's not like they've got a cutscene and a dedicated temple, they're just amongst a group of pokémon which you need to find (in a tiresome and boring way imo). When the remakes come out a lot of people still won't have caught them

And btw all Gen I legendaries were available in USUM, did that stop GF from putting out LGPE?

I think it was just to sell dlc.
Kind of ironic, I decided against the dlc specifically because they did that, I hate when they put all the old legendaries into the latest games, like >>46111931 said they've been doing it for a while now and it sucks every time.

You can only promote "All legendaries" in a game if all legendaries are in said game.
You still have the mythicals and starters(the main marketable mons) unavailable.

I'm someone who likes trading, one of those core mechanics of pokemon that is slowly being phased out and made worthless. Now I'm not advocating legendaries to be too super duper rare, but it would be nice if they had some value, we've been given so many redundancies at this point you'd be lucky to trade them for anything, legendary no longer means anything.
sw/sh has basically made all of trading worthless now though, so I guess it doesn't really matter

Its not literally possible thanks to the internet so you don't have to live in the first world.
The problem is that you can quickly trade to get the missing mons but that was the same as when the franchise started.

Good. "Value" shouldn't be what stops people from actually completing the game.
