What went so fucking horribly wrong?

i mean other than the horrible voice acting and the kinda repetitive gameplay, i get that it originally released on the wii u so they had to start cutting corners to try to make a profit but for the switch version just a very small revamp and a bit of marketing would have helped a lot, for the switch version i would have done stuff like

>Get better voice actors or remove the voice acting completely
>redraw all the human characters in sugimori style
>promote each craracter as a trainer and pokemon pair like how pokemon master does now, the trainers for pikachu and braixen are very cute they could have maketed them a lot more but the problem is they are drawn in the most gener anime style ever with a default pose in their only artwork

if they had waited longer to port this it could have even helped promote sword and shield with stuff like "if you buy this game, when you buy sword and shield you get a pikachu libre or a shirt for your character, i really like the concept of pokken but i wish it never existed because it was executed so poorly
