Hey /vp, I'm building a kalos in X team trying to get around to building a living dex coming hot off of white 2. My team currently consists of chespin, litleo, and pidgey. I'd like suggestions of other pokemon to fill the remaining slots.

I had fun with Barbaracle in my last playthrough. It takes a while to get evolved but is strong with Tough Claws. The fossils are also good in-game.

I think you should get at least one pokemon who can mega evolve. Pidgeot can only mega in ORAS

No worries, when the games were new I picked up only y myself. Only reason I know the version differences now is due to my looking for a team, I just can't decide on who to use that I've not used before. Trying to broaden my horizons.

as someone who’s used all the Kalos Pokemon, Malamar is probably one of the best because it’s easy to train and Contrary is broken in game, plus a great design.
Blastoise would fit your team well also if you want a mega, but if you don’t care for it then Clawitzer works just as well for the most part.

Yes, they're one of the better games in the series with an actually good story and you don't get interrupted by the autism squad a million times.
Alola as a whole is just a better region than Kalos, there's plenty of optional dungeons and areas to explore and you don't have HMs bogging the whole experience down. Kalos is just Unova 2.0 where Alola actually gives you the freedom to experience and get immersed in the world.
