You fuckers just need to accept Grass is a high risk high reward type.
It gets plethora of benefits under sun, but Fire weakness is worsened. Rain is just the opposite.

Pretty sure that plants store solar energy so they don't need sun during night times.
grass types all should be able to use their stored solar energy to use Solar Beam/Blade without charging them (this is one of the things that the anime got right by making grass types shoot solar beam without charging in some episodes)
