>>46116628>Gen 1Relatively well designed region, good characters, iconic designs, lots of exploration and the foundation of games to come
>Gen 2Amazing region, great OST, some of the best designs in the franchise, packed with content.
>Gen 3A fun but light plot involving legendaries, a pretty good region, fun customization like the secret bases, substantial post game (Emerald)
>Gen 4Really nice spritework mixed with fancy camera angles, incredible OST, an incredibly well designed and fun region, great online support and multiplayer features, tons of side and post game content, and incredibly solid designs for Pokemon
>Gen 5A great story wrapped together with gorgeous visuals, an amazing OST, a breath of fresh air with some great Pokemon designs, even more great online content, and just an overall great region to be in.
>Gen 6A pretty nice jump to 3D with some solid music, decent characters, absolutely amazing Pokemon designs, and a lot of great QoL and customization options.
>Gen 7Very nice looking for a 3ds game with a great region, good OST, amazing trainer designs, and a fun story. Introduced a lot of fun new elements to both the games and to the lore.
>Gen 8Great but underutilized open world design, some amazing Pokemon designs, and a nice focus on online functions (when it works). Still the weakest, but there's still things to enjoy.
Personally I'd say Gen
5 is my overall favorite, with Gen
4 being 2nd favorite.
