Megas are the best, without a doubt, but I did like Z-Moves somewhat. They're super over the top, but that's honestly enjoyable, and they fit thematically too. The dances suited the region and grounded Alola in its cultural roots even more, and the fact that they make use of the trainer's life force is a neat idea. I particularly enjoy Ultra Necrozma's signature Z-Move animation because the trainer actually collapses from the strain of using this stupidly overpowered attack, it's an excellent touch of lore. Speaking of signature Z-Moves, they add a nice touch of character to certain Pokemon. I don't really care for Incineroar (really wish we could have just gotten a simple fire tiger), but the sheer charisma it exudes in its Z-Move animation is undeniable.
So yeah. Megas are the best, but Z-Moves were cool too. I'm glad they're Alola exclusive, though. The lore works best that way. Hopefully Dynamax will follow suit and remain in Galar
