Finding out about Mew via the Pokemon Mansion or seeing the cultural importance the shrine in Ilex Forest had to Cianwood's citizens was a nice touch and made those Pokemon truly feel rare and elusive. On the other hand, without Jirachi Wishmaker, Destiny Deoxys or a Cheat Device, you'd never know Jirachi or Deoxys existed in Ruby or Sapphire.
Granted at least Gen 4 did a decent job of giving it's Mythicals some mention in-game, but when shit like Zeraora or Zarude exist and I go the whole game without them being mentioned, they hardly feel "Mythical".
