I saw what level he was at, decided to go the other way since I figured I was doing the wrong order, and came back after beating Brock and had no problem with the rival.
Also, they didn't really destroy the immersion when Gen 1 lacked fully matching teams anyway, the E4 being the biggest example. They weren't fully their type in Gen 1 and now they still weren't fully their type in RR. I enjoyed the challenge of the game since it made me feel rewarded for sticking to the mon selection I planned at the beginning of the game instead of just going for strong Smogon picks or whatever to try and push the games in my favor. You can really say it's an accomplishment to beat the game as opposed to other romhacks.
>>46131907You sound like you're going to be an ass no matter what anyone tells you because it seems like you couldn't do the basic math on "instead of the Pokemon naturally being easy to find" before you decided to set that as your metric. RR has up to Gen 8 Pokemon in it, and it weaves that massive number in really well, even more so thanks to the DexNav.
