Gen 8 had the worst starters of all time, the worst fossils of all time, and arguably the most misses in its Pokedex out of all the generations. I judged each evolutionary line as a whole, and tried to articulate reasons why I dislike them:

>Rillaboom: Drummer is a stupid theme. I hate that the third stage has to drag a literal drum around. Why can't he just be a cool green gorilla monster? Why does he need to be a musician? Without the drum he's the best of the three starters.

>Cinderace: Soccer theme is retarded. Extremely meh furbait final stage. Probably the gen 8 starter I hate the least.

>Inteleon: Wasted potential. Hideous, awkward, uncanny design. Terrible proportions, too human-like, just gross. I thought Greninja was bad, but this is so much worse. Doesn't feel like Pokemon anymore. Jobmons ruined Pokemon.

>Drednaw: Ugly colors. It's meh overall. Don't like it for some reason.

>Boltund: Manectric knock off. Boring.

>Flapple/Appletun: I fucking hate food mons. Flapple is ugly, Appletun is just dumb. Some of the worst from this generation.

>Sandaconda: Really ugly design. Could have evolved into a cool snake monster like Arbok, turned into a car tire instead.

>Centiskorch: Doesn't look like a Pokemon. Too much going on. Looks artificial.

>Grapploct: Ugly colors, ugly design, totally forgettable dex filler.

>Polteageist: I'm not a fan of ghosts in general. This one is particularly dumb. Who wants a fucking teapot Pokemon?
