The manga encourages you to do this to avoid confusion due to the chance that another trainer could use the same kind of Pokemon as you. Probably foreshadowing Victor taking on Bea and her Sirfetch'd at some point.

Have you read the SwSh manga? It gives some ideas for theme naming Pokemon. Gloria's team is named based on units of measure Tera, Kilo etc while Victor's team is named based on their tools for combat Lancyn, Beamyn etc. You could also name them after gods. Or maybe things like naming a Cinderace Trix or something.
