>>46150105Ok so let me try to explain you why I created those two categories of atrocious and sneaky/schemes (maybe neither has the right name for it). You can this and then you can disagree, I'm just showing you my perspective.
There's clearly one type of Dark type Pokemon which is using "cheaty" moves like Knock Off, Sucker Punch, Taunt, Beat Up, etc. These are moves that one way or another intentionally hurt the opposing Pokemon, that means there's a clear psychological mind game being played. Most of these Pokemon are what we could call "bad guys" in any other game, like how there's one big bad boos guy and then there's the minions, these minions are working in gangs to steal food or stuff for themselves. Since they steal, they tend to be sneaky, however that's not the other way to steal, you can make evil schemes and plots to manipulate others. They could also be working solo but their goal is the same, to be evil and manipulative. This is clearly what Honchkrow is, what Bisharp and Scraggy are, and where Greninja fits best because it's supposed to be a sneaky ninja.
Then there's a very clear second type of Dark type Pokemon which is destructive, vicious, rampaging, and evil not in the sense that it's selfish and wants to steal from others, but in the sense that it wants to destroy things. This is clearly the case for Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Guzzlord in a very obvious sense, but also Mightyena ("This Pokémon will bite savagely with its sharply pointed fangs.") where the Pokemon isn't doing what it does because it wants to intentionally cause harm to the opponent, but because it's simply in their nature to destroy. Moves like Bite, Crunch, Brutal Swing and Wicked Blow fit into this description.
(This is part 1, part 2 coming after cause my comment's too long.)
