Yeah, as far as collecting goes, the only Japanese cards I actively seek out are exclusives (vending series, VS series, promos, etc.). I just bought a Shiny Star V pack for a laff, and I had a lot of fun opening it.
Honestly though, if there were better illustrations in the set, I'd consider collecting Shiny Star V over Shining Fates (not really interested in either) just because the reverse holos are so much better. Something about the gloss combined with the holo pattern really triggers my autism in a good way
