Huge unova fan here, it was my first pokemon gen and I absolutely love it but even I have to admit they're not very good objectively

I think B2W2 is the best gamefreak could ever offer, but there are flaws that no one should ever ignore.
Like how the region is almost too linear.
How you're being railroaded instead of being given freedom to explore the region like Kanto or Johto.
The desert after Castelia is an extremely retarded combination of biome.

Gen V is high highs and low lows

Pros:
- last game with Sprites
- speedy game engine (compare to DPPt)
- triple battles are cool and I'm mad they never came back
- hidden abilities
- nice music, especially battle music
- it was a ballsy choice to make you use Unova mons only, too bad it'll never happen again

Cons
- first dex to have more clunkers than good looking mons (imo)
- power creep
- first game to be insultingly linear
- poor release timing and disappointing sales led to GameFreak never taking any major risks again. In a way, Gen V ruined the series indirectly

Overall though, still enough here to love that I consider Gen V one of the classics
