Seafoam Islands in Kanto.
1. It's optional.
2. It actually has unique Pokemon instead of the same dogshit you can already find in a dozen other areas of the game like Sinnoh is guilty of doing.
3. It has a semi-engaging unique puzzle.

Everything after is unironic dogshit. No one except complete autists looks at shit like Mt Coronet or Victory Road and go "yep, this is fun, this is what I play pokemon for."

If I liked SMT SJ's dungeons but hated the bosses and world would I like SMT 4? It's the only SMT I've played.

SMT IV's dungeons are a lot simpler, sans the final one of IV: Apocalypse, and exploration is done in third person. They're both good games worth playing if you like SMT.

I don't think any dungeons were ever that good but I will say the spooky areas at least have good atmosphere. Too bad they never added any good lore to any of the spooky areas outside of pokemon tower, and even that was the most basic type of lore.

I think the last dungeon I went "ooh this is neat" is Chargestone Cave, or Victory Road in B2/W2. That mirror cave in XY was neat but way too short.

replaying IV right now for neutral,I forgot how good the game looked on the 3DS and the soundtrack is amazing with headphones. I just beat minotaur my first try which was easy since I knew he was weak to ice. I only played SJ for like 3 hours before dropping it but I imagine its harder than 4
