Pokemon has always been a flawed franchise compared to others, all the way up from day 1. The only difference now is that you're old enough to realize it. RBY barely hold up as games due to the glitches and bullshit mechanics. GSC is just Kanto 2.0, Johto as a region can barely hold it's own. RSE is lacking alot of things compared to other GBA games. DPPT are near unplayable games due to how slow and repetitive they are. Unova is another game in and of itself plastered with Pokemon. Kalos is simply a downgrade compared to its predecessors. Alola is held back by how little it has to offer outside of its good points and how it only really appeals to one crowd. Galar is just missed potential. The remakes aren't any fucking better, they barely count as remakes as in reality they're the same game but modernized, added in with a few QOL changes, and sold for 40-60 bucks + console. This community is so nostalgia driven it hurts.
