What if he directs Gen 9 or 10 to be like the games he truly imagined when he came up with pokemon, with a huge world and tons of exploring

I assumed that he was either dead or worse and that was the reason he wasn't developing the games anymore. I can't imagine he'd feel very good about the current state of the series, but then again, he is a senior Japanese Nintendo employee so I wouldn't be surprised if he saw no issues.

Of we're making Star Wars comparisons, then that at least means it's better than the current stuff which is more like Disney's movies just shitting on everything despite having everything they could need to make it good handed to them with plenty of good ideas if only they'd follow them. And we can count on the spin-offs getting a good revival like the expanded universe stuff that's been carrying Star Wars for a while now.

If the last game he made was 20 years ago then yeah he's probably completely out of the loop. I'd never wish to have back what we currently have though. It can't be worse than a 0

Anyways, anon, I'm sorry to tell you but most of the hardcore fanbase puts the golden age in gens 3-5 and the bases for all three of them were directed by Masuda.
