Well BW2 introduced the Shiny Charm so if you had that then yeah it greatly increases the chance of shinys. Otherwise it was just a coincidence.

Shiny Piloswine looks great why ruin it like this.
Nidoqueen doesn't just look bad it breaks the color swap thing they had going on with the Nidoking line.
Ponyta turns from a cool blue to a boring grey.
Leafeon could have had autumn colors or anything else that represents plants/seasons.
Obstagoon line is just too much.

GF really should just take a minute to make shinies have more or less the same colors if they don't really change color.
