I think Toxtricity is an ugly/bad design. It comes off as someone's glorified scalesona.

I think the only bad Pokemon ever designed is that one Unova fire monkey evolution, the one with the shitty hair, and I find it kind of weird how people act like all the games nowadays have bad art direction for monsters. I can't think of another franchise with such a big quantity of good artwork.

i think its genuinely a good design. the bipedal or maybe tripedal sword wielding aspect is stupid though. I think its just too much of a departure from its pre evos for some people.

i think cyndaquil is the only good design in its entire line. quilava is a mess and typhlosion is a boring fat rodent. i don't understand the appraise these pokemon get in comparison to the other two johto starters

I always thought that its quadroeped pose was meant to involve a high ranked samurai on horseback.

The only real issue is that the why it's modeled makes it hard to imagine how it actually uses its arm swords. It feels like it should be like Typhlosion, being able to switch between two and four legs, but I've never seen it in the anime so I have trouble seeing how it would actually look.

Yeah, I agree with you there, partially. I don't mind the previous evolutions. In fact, I kind of like them. But I'm glad the line ended up with Samurott since the previous evolutions give me the feeling that if they didn't they'd have gone something similar to Emboar.

It's an amazing design, it just needs a bit of tweaking on the back legs to make standing up more believable. That and for GameFreak/TPCi to actually show off the things it can do - its debut games didn't even show off its sword gimmick at the time.
