Do you bother catching Pokemon with good natures, or even breed for IVs during the main playthrough?

id sometimes recatch a pokemon if it had a bad nature, but fuck the rest of that stuff for story mode

Natures? Yeah, but more within the 'good enough' ball range like anything that gives +Attack on a physical attacker
Never for IV's, it's overkill

Not autisticly, but if I pick up a special attack mon that has it's regular attack boosted instead, I'll drop it until I find one that has boosted speicial.

My autism tries to make sure I at least don’t have BAD natures, but lately I’ve been able to ignore the ‘tism. I just played through Ruby, and found a Chimecho on my first encounter on Mt. Pyre outside, and I caught it to use on my team, but it had an Adamant nature. I didn’t really care though, and it even let me use a few moves on Chimecho better.

That's what I was thinking. I only went for absolute best natures (Adamant, Modest, etc), including soft resetting for the natures on starter and gift Pokemon, the first time I played Y. It's too tedious though.

IMO, for story progress it's worse to have a -speed nature than it is to have a -atk/sp.atk nature because chip damage will build up so much if random encounters and trainers are constantly outspeeding you

I no longer care for competitive, but I was once big into, it, so much so that now I legit know every pokemons ivs just from looking at them(yea yea, it's disgusting, I'm sorry) anyway because I inherently know when I get something bad, I have to catch a decent one, it doesn't need perfect 31s or anything, but it can't have a zero.
as for natures, as long as it isn't lowering the best stat, idc.

ideally it's a neutral or benefitial nature. I'd only recatch if it was a modest Drilbur or naive Ferroseed, for example
