I like fakemon. Arguing that they can't be as good as official in some cases is literally being ignorant because of biased. That being said, the chances of a fakemon being well thought out (conceptually), well designed, and well executed stylistically are very low. Only a slim amount of designers can pull that off.

I think most fakemon artists look more at gen 4+ designs, so I would like to see more fakemons based on older gens.

I remember reading that once a fakemon is made both concept and design are forever barred from ever becoming official. Could explain why so many recent designs are just shit.

They grew up with shit(Dppt hgss) games and those are what gets praised the most aside from b/w whose designs were shit on. It's a culture thing now. You get stuck with generic elementals, blobs or people. If they avoid those pitfalls they'll certainly either overdesign or get rid of some exaggerated features.

I used to not really care for Fakemon much but I just look at some of the worst Gen 7/8 has to offer and it's hard to prefer what we get over what fans make
Granted there's still a lot of shit out there but some of it is alright

I just don't like having hundreds of new Pokémon for one game I will play once and then forget.
Because I will just forget them, I don't want to get interested in their lore, their types, their stats and their movepool.

I'm fine with some fakemon added to a game, not a whole Pokédex.

That's just speculation based on cases between all sorts of fandoms. Huge franchises take IPs seriously and have a lot of legal backing for them. They can cover their asses simply by enforcing not to look at any fan material and it would just be coincidence if anything. The chances a fan could even afford to take them to court is also incredibly low. Not to say most fakemon are even worth copying in the first place.

Which makes sense, really. Even the slightest chance that an artist can lift some design elements form an unofficial creature, even subconsciously, is one they're justifiably not willing to take.
