>>46210465Aside from why I like the species in general, we've been through a lot together. She gets me through extremely tough battles and comes in clutch often, and I get tons of 3-0 or 6-0 sweeps with her (depending on whether I'm doing BSS or OU at the moment). Even on teams where she's not my primary focus, she pulls her weight in supporting the rest of the party by eliminating key threats to them. I also have her as my following Pokemon and go do lots of things in the Crown Tundra with her, like farming the berry trees or mark hunting, and doing Raids.
This started a year ago after I'd had her for a long while, because I was checking memories and realized that while the rest of my team had been caught or trained during my initial playthrough, my Hatterene was the only one that I hatched an egg for, so I had never actually really had an adventure with her. So I set up another account, put her in there in Home, and ran through the entire game of SWSH from start to end all over again using only her. And I'm gonna be honest, I actually had a lot of fun with it. It was one of the most enjoyable things I've done in the mainline games, and this time I actually got to see a lot of the extra dialogue in the battles because I wasn't just OHKOing their Dynamax Pokemon. I didn't even realize most of them HAD lines for their G-Max Moves. And by the time it was over, I felt a deeper connection to that Hatt than I had with any other Pokemon I owned (except for my Venusaur), and I viewed it as my ace more than anything.
And now my Hatterene actually has a memory that's special, and it always makes me happy to visit the dude in the Pokemon Center and check it again. I can't wait for the day when I can take my Hatterene on a journey to other regions and travel outside of Galar,
so I can finally have her in a game that isn't fucking awful because I might love Hatterene and most of Gen 8's roster but it doesn't change the fact that SWSH was still mostly a dumpster fire
