Granted, it was kinda bullshit you couldn't buy more coins, it was a pretty slapdash replacement, but it was a game that rewarded skill and sometimes I'll still play it just for fun. I also like sudoku and Picross though, so that might just be me.

Honestly if there's a TM or a pokemon locked behind a game corner that I really want, I just use cheat codes to give myself infinte coins. I really do NOT have the patience to play boring minigames for an hour.

I vastly prefered it over the slots, even compared the two HGSS and Platinum's slot machines in terms of how fast it is to gain coins. Had a faster time racking coins on Voltorb Flip than the slots due to Flip shelling out WAY more coins at higher levels where the slots deal only like 300 at best if you actually get the jackpot. The 50/50s but at least you can sort of manipulate whether you get knocked down a few levels or entirely back to Lv. 1. Still, the speed and output of coins is still much more worthwhile and interactive than the slots to me.
Annoying that you just couldn't buy coins but I have a better and more enjoyable time with Flip than the slots in the long run.
Probably my favorite casino minigame in the series but Realgam's bingo and Mauville's Roulette wheel are good contenders too.

I used to play that a lot and luck does matter most of the time. It takes a lot of time to get the TMs even if you use the websites other anons say. I still like it more than the casinos from the other games though. I guess you could try the Japanese version, if you want.

All they had to do was add an option at the Celadon corner to buy coins. Keeps the intent in Johto intact while letting post-game players have free access provided they have $$$. Very sad oversight
