They really could have worked out a way to transfer pokemon up. Nobody but tourneyfags would have given a shit if they had to fudge the numbers on the stats a bit. Other than that, it was pretty great. And the remakes and colosseum kinda made up for the lack of gen 1 and 2 pokemon.

They really fucked up with this generation by making so many bad pokemon, bad region, and a rehashed version of the gen 3 story but without the interesting feud between Aqua and Magma depending on the version, but then they brought it back around with the remakes of Gold and Silver by packing it with so much content that the greedy shit bags working at F were even growing concerned that they were overdoing it somehow but went ahead with it.

They finally put a bit of effort into making the main characters into real JRPG characters that you could actually care about. Also they made a sequel instead of just "The same game but with features we held back"

Great region, gigantic nattional dex, Megas were kinda cool, but a lot of kanto pandering, back to shit story telling and shit characters. But the catalyst for everything wrong with the series, including but not limited to 3D models used for battles being extremely dull compared to the sprites of old. And RIP any pokemon that participates in sky battles... Also the ORAS remakes were not necessary.

I couldn't even finish this shit. I appreciate the attempt to get rid of HMs, but why the fuck am I gonna use somebody else's pokemon for that? So much kanto pandering.
Gen 8 = Didn't play it but I don't see an ounce of soul.
