People who play for story more than for online or mechanics.
Sun and moon has the most elaborate story GF has ever tried and if it resonated with you, it comes off as a really good game. Most of the pokemon are also great, there are hardly any stinkers. UBs are super cool conceptually.
If you are a fan of pokemon, you will probably like it but if you are a fan of the pokemon games, you probably won't.

It's similar if you're trying to be purposefully disingenuous.
Gen 6 is closer to Gen 5 in just about every aspect. Design-wise, map-wise, NPC-wise, even down to making the gym leaders have 3 Pokemon and the E4 have 4.

Your argument would mayyybe hit, if we were talking about sun/moon, but USUM fixed a lot of the problems sun/moon had, and it was a pretty solid game.

No they didn't, and that's one of the biggest criticisms of USUM especially considering it was just a third version split into two instead of one centralized one.

Nice bait. XY are an example of "just pretty solid games." Gen 7 and 8 are so far removed from what Pokemon used to be that they may as well be considered spin-offs. Hell, people consider LGPE a spin-off and it's closer to a Pokemon game than SM/USUM/SWSH are.

You are a retard for thinking that gen 7 isn't a traditional game just because they removed HMS. All gens are traditional, even gen 8 as shitty as it was, is a traditional game. Shit on gen 8 all you want, but you leave gen 7 out of this.

I agree about the story being better, but the game is definitely not as challenging as the other Pokémon games. I have only played a few other ones, but I feel like Sun/Moon was pretty easy. I never was stuck at certain points of the game and passed through lots of it quickly.
