It's like the swastika, it originally was a sign of peace and prosperity before hitler came to power, and turned the sign into a sign of hatred, and bigotry.

The swastika was a good thing until hitler came to power, and the pogchamp emote was a good thing until gootecks fucked up it's reputation. I guess I get it now. Pogchamp used to be a sign of happiness, and excitement, and it is now a sign of bigotry, and violence. *sigh*, another innocent symbol ruined.
