I think they're alright. They serve the purpose they're supposed to in-game pretty well. They're not supposed to be taken seriously and they actually do well on impeding the player and giving context to roadblocks instead of random Psyduck or men dancing. Plus, they actually have a pretty alright motivation to do so, so they're fine in my books.

This. Look ok at best, shit impact, do nothing, look worse than Skull, appear in a game right after team Skull so it just looks lazy and rehashed, and arguably worst of all they don't real have a cool figurehead like Guzma or Plumeria for people too latch on to.

Loved Skull, I wanted to like Yell in the same way

they were fun. but i feel like the franchise as a whole would have benefitted from them and skull getting swapped though. A bunch of local fans following their fav challenger for first champion of alola and constantly getting in your way to slow you down from getting to the e4 first as distraction from aether running a twofaced "conservationist" movement. And then Team Skull slumming it around galar making trouble for the "secretly" corrupt cosmos organization who've left their town underdeveloped because theres no power spot to exploit.

I really don't like how they only have two different models. It wasn't as much of a problem for Team skull since much of their face was hidden and they had generic bodies, but here from the looks of it every male member of team Skull is a fat malding boomer and it's sort of immersion breaking.
