HGSS are far from perfect, but a think they encapsule what a pokemon game truly is: exploration of Johto and Kanto, capturing all the different mons and discovering the legendaries, rebattling, not just the league, but the "stronger" trainer that is Red and then the frontier. soulful (not in a meme way) events, following pokemon, some may argue that this is stupid, but it brings life to the game, that aura of misticism with the towers and alpha ruins... I dont know, I think, if gamefreak would have fixed the issue with the level curve and toned up kanto a little bit it would be the best pokemon game no doubt
