Except Pokémon's a bigger franchise than FE. Why would they waste a Pokémon fighter on DLC now? Mewtwo was an exception, the entire fanbase was screeching for it due to it being there before.

Why would they announce the character now and not during Pokemon Week?
It makes much more sense for them to announce a Monster Hunter rep alongside MH Promotional Video 4, and that way in a month they can release the MH fighter and Rise around the same time.

plus, this argument is kinda pointless when convenient hammerspace is a thing for every Smash fighter, even despite them trying to make other characters ambidextrous for creative purposes.

that isn't an exception, that's entirely unrelated.

meanwhile, Nintendo decided the only first party newcomer for DLC should from Fire Emblem in Smash 4, where they could've just made Dixie as a character or shill Xenoblade X, or heck, add a Gen 3 character since they missed the chance in Brawl.
