What's the tactical advantage in having a spike on the chest? I'd imagine it would hurt like hell if she falls on it.

Can you feel your bones right now?
The real answer is that the spike is supposed to look defensively sturdy like a targe shield. Its pretty silly but I don't think its egregious.

The ones on its paws do serve a combat function (they're how it uses attacks like Metal Sound and Metal Claw), but the chest spike has never been shown to be for anything but decoration
