The main focus of GO is catching the Pokemon you encounter, if you catch it you win, if it runs away you lose.
Can't say the same for the Alola and Galar games now can we? At least Gen 6 had nice team composition instead of actively just letting the player curb stomp them.

>>46241403 And no others. I counted secret techniques as seperate from HMs because despite working similarly, they do not require you to have a specific pokemon or type of pokemon in your party. You can fly and surf in LGPE no matter what you choose to catch, which makes it better than HMs.
