Since Pokemon Directs started, have they ever been connected? I think all we got was a Nintendo Direct spending some time revealing more of SwSh. If there's a new game, or remakes, or anything else, they're being announced next week during Pokemon's little week to celebrate itself.

Pokemon's always been distanced from Nintendo and doing its own thing while Nintendo looks on and nods in approval of how much bank it makes them annually, the only reason they haven't gone full-mobile and abandoned them yet is because Nintendo still holds a 33.33% stronghold on the franchise and various key elements of it, and GameFreak would be put out of business entirely if they had to develop for literally anything other than Nintendo's platforms.

They haven't gone mobile because they still sell consoles anon. Quite strongly and the fact they do yearly releases spreads those sales reliably over every three year cycle.
