>>46248602>When Nintendo pressures them to release games annuallyNintendo constantly allows games they develop AND publish to be delayed, with a few notable exceptions (the GameCube era, off the top of my head). Now, let's look at the reason Pokemon games can't be delayed, from Nintendo's perspective.
>Nintendo needs a game out to sell systemsThis is true a lot of the time, probably very true with the 3DS, but before SS even came out, the Switch was selling incredibly well.
>They need a game out for a certain release periodArguably true, especially when Pokemon games come out near the holidays. For SS that could be true, given their other holiday titled got delayed until the next year (and sold better and is still getting support, unlike SS is because GF are 200% at least working on one new Pokemon game right now and can't even have a smaller team work on it, like Splatoon 2 during ACNH's release year or Splatoon 3 for the former).
>To sell toysArguably true, Nintendo does have about a third of the Pokemon Company, but Game Freak owns the slightly bigger share, Nintendo only has as much as Creatures Inc. TPC itself has a bigger reason to because if Game Freak goes against the normal marketing cycle, things will go badly for them.
