>>46251725I just fuckin' liked the game man.
I loved Poke Amie for all the fun animations that added life and character to each species of Pokemon, the ability to pet and feed them, and I even loved the minigames.
I loved Super Training and found it to be a fun minigame in it's own right, and even after I trained my mons up with it I still played the extra modes because I just found it a blast.
I loved Berry Farming, and discovering the berry mutations and cross-breeding and stuff.
I liked the Region itself and found it fun to explore. Kalos is beautiful, and I think it's a good ride to explore. It has lots of secret nooks and crannies to it with actual rewards to discover and real fucking dungeons for the last time in the series.
I liked the characters, yes, unironically. I fondly remember ALL of the Gym Leaders and the Elite Four, all of them made a good impression on me and it pains me that the Elite Four don't get stronger on rematches because I'd have loved to see their expanded teams. I have the fondest memories of Ramos, honestly, I liked his gym and he's a fun old guy. Scyamore was good too, and I also liked Tierno and Serena. Even as undercooked as he was, I even kind of liked Lysandre.
I loved the Pokemon that were added. X and Y have one of the best generational rosters, and all of them were well distributed and rewarding to train up.
I fucked adore Mega Evolutions and I absolutely loved the concept behind them and the execution. Sure, some went a little overboard (Gengar and Kangaskhan), but I think most of them were done well and all Megas are viable in their own way. If you want to use a specific Mega, you're fully capable of doing so without being punished for it. I just hate the X/Y Clause that they put into ORAS out of laziness instead of just, you know, fucking putting all the new megas into X and Y via a patch.
Plus all the other stuff like Cafe's, fashion, etc.
I just think they're neat.
