Because I'm autistic I've decided to not only play a game /vp/ recommended to me, but also finish it, I also want to join the trend of people sharing thoughts on this game with this review: https://pastebin.com/xpdJ2hPd
Note that it's long, because I've decided to write in style of professional reviews instead of just listing pros and cons and it's mostly spoiler free.

My team in case anyone wants to try any of the Pokemon in it. I did Photoshop the movesets in place of XP bar because otherwise the image would be too large:

Shyleon - Main reason why image is a spoiler and I had to make use of the screenshots from the battle. Despite me being originally opposed to weird Digimon legendary starters with forms, I did like it. Shyleon does kind of feel like Hard mode starter because so many things used by Evil Team is either Sound or Poison, but other than that, it's just so fast and powerful. Thanks to its ability I didn't feel like it needed any coverage (it only gets Extrasensory, physical fairy bounding move, Future Sight and Lunar Dance from more interesting moves) Also Toxic and Teeter Dance helped catching legendaries and defeat bosses.

X Elekid / X Electabuzz / Electaburst - either best or second best Pokemon here. Decided to go for Wide Lens set because it had Focus Blast early, but you can just go for Flamethrower and Thunderbolt because it should know both from Move Reminder. You can swap Thunder Wave for Flash Cannon for Fairy Types. If you get lucky with X Elekid and catch one with Xenolith you can just skip Electabuzz's stage, which I did. Love this wild oni raijin.

Blingrimm / Blingrudge - Despite not catching the one with Poison Point, it was neat and could solo gym leaders and bosses. Good, if you need physical anything.

Hikiloo / Mylomute - Really liked both stages. You can technically evolve it the moment you catch it, but I didn't know and got Ice Stone before 4th Gym. That being said, it has really solid stats and coverage. One time I gave it Choice Band and forgot to heal its PP it OHKO'd gym leader's ace with Struggle.

Eevee / Bandeon - What's with fangames making eeveelutions with new types so broken? It has Sylveon's stats with few changes and it melts everything with Boomburst. You get it (as well as Sylveon or Scaleon) from 80 BP pledge moves which Eevee can learn, but not its evos so that's mainly why I kept them. That and some coverage even if it's not exactly needed.

Sputnink / Nebyura (not present in the image) - Wanted Dielebi in team, but it was postgame only so I've used Nebyura for league. It was alright, I definitely prefer Ancient/Stored Power set over Psychic one. Amazing if you get anything with Baton Pass and boosting moves like Quiver Dance, speaking of...

Dielebi - Kept it because I like the altered design and it's nifty to have it in postgame for catching legendaries. Shame it's underleveled compared to any other postgame legendary, but other than that it's great. You can also have fun with Serene Grace Silver Wind and Baton Pass, which I replaced Energy Ball with because I needed it for the last battle.

But just in general the game lacks that "janky" feel of Essentials games outside of some screen tearing here and there. Characters run at appropriate speeds, the camera is right where it should be, the pokeballs are thrown nicely, the animations are crisp, etc. Little feels clunky like Essentials games tend to be.

Feels more janky to me than any other essentials game I've played tbdesu. Battle animations and inventory screens frequently glitch out and cover the screen in rainbow pixels, and movement stutters a little on larger maps.
Probably just optimized for nvidia cards.

Scaleon is pretty good from what I've heard and seen. It's a fast physical attacker so it doesn't really have much of an use from the Pledge coverage and I'm not even sure if you can have one with Sound Pledge. It's available much earlier than Bandeon though.

UI related code that has been redone, (*cogh* copied and pasted under the original doubling the amount of code *cogh*) like the bag and the summary for example, all load the standard assets and never use them then load the custom ones and use them; the lag may be caused by that.

Also if you look at the game files (I'm looking at the first italian version, english release may differ) all the stock essentials graphics are still sitting there.

You could try reducing the render size of the window; if it's not in the game options, chuck a .rxproj file in the folder and re-enable it. Might save you some hiccups.

One benefit is that if you have it in your party and level up Chubiburny it'll evolve into Goombear (it's a Mantine situation, basically) and so far Goombear's super good. I'm also using a speed boost Skravroom (evolves from Vroombug) with Shift Gear and Baton Pass. Shift Gear once or twice and baton pass over to Goombear and sweep pretty easily. Makes the last two gyms an absolute joke, and I could've made gym 6 a joke too since you can get Birigiri by that point.

No. The only X-Mon bosses you can catch are Elekid, Sharpedo, Galvantula, and Roserade. You do get a X-Ponyta for free later though.

Grudako is alright, but it's honestly not worth the pure suffering training up Chigami. Grudako does get a decent moveset thanks to the move reminder the moment it's finally evolved, but I'd only recommend using it if you put using it off for later until you can train it up to Grudako in one go. Goombear's a better fairymon, but it does take a little before you can evolve it. 10/10 mon once it is though.

I haven't tried out Blingrudge myself, but from what I've heard from other anons Blingrudge with Poison Touch is amazing, and Fatail is just okay.

Am i insane or is catch rate calculations not working properly? I’ve had a hunch, several times I’ve had a REGULAR mon at <25% with a status and it will not catch, even after ~15-20 balls.

I dont want to seem like a bitch but ive observed this in several games that use essentials. It’s either a coincidence or fangame devs love sadistic catch rates.

Koinkoin drops nuggets but it's tanky and a bit rare. I got a shit ton of money grinding Chigami in Milkiway, seems to be a guaranteed or very high chance to drop Sticky Barb which sells for 1k each.
Could be patched, there's been a couple since I did that.

About to get into the game.
Did they add any way to manipulate EVs, IVs and Natures in this game outside of breeding?
I usually wouldn't be so autistic about it but it kinda feels different when the numbers are shown on the stats screen.
Also, base stats for the starters so I know which natures to reset for?

Use WES Update on it or something like that.
Either Porygon drops it as a its most rare item or you get it in Postgame, where its given to you by the Alakazam dude in one of the postgame locations after battling with him.

To be fair I only just started victory road. After a lot of lucky egg swapping (sucks that they give it to you so late, but oh well) on trainers and a bit of topping off on wild mons my team's at about level 60/61. I'm probably just under halfway done with Victory Road, if I had to guess? After it's done I'm gonna grind for a tiny bit, then use all of my stockpiled rare candies and give the E4 a go. Will still be a tiny bit underlevelled for the champ fight, but should be do-able.

You can get Masgot through pokemon dens, mainly. Interact with it in the den then it'll popup somewhere nearby in the overworld for you to fight and catch. Each one is a different type combo and they're all scattered throughout the region, not every den has a Masgot. Coincidentally enough I found a Tyranitar Masgot which should make it the Rock type one (I didn't actually check), but it's all the way in Victory Road.

It's a weird trade off for sure. I do hope in future updates they'll make New Game + that allows to check all dens without required starter and you don't need him for the story for it to progress somehow, but the game is overall much harder, like BW2 Challenge Mode. Fakemon: Dragalisk and Chientilly - Ice/Fairy mythical in the files
X Forms: Raichu, Tapus, Bisharp, Tyranitar and Scovile. The files also list stuff like X Ditto.
Megas: Suicune (which I can't find a single picture of, but he's part of champion's team) and Weavile from shown one.
???/Vakum and Alter forms of your starters will probably remain boss, much like Eternamax Eternatus.

Earlier stuff also show Mega Hypno, Mega Dragonite and from Fakemon according to some the ghost on the bottom left, and normal/dark Cats that were probably cut from recycling too much of what we already have. There definitely are more that were once in development, but these seem like the most recent of the ones that

Early routes have a fighting rabbit that drops Black Belts, 1k each, and they're low level, you can even train some shitmon or catch/breed 5 zigzagoon for the pickup extra.

I've managed to get my Switch pro Controller to connect with AntiMicro and Better Joy. The issue I am having right now is when they are all up the game doesn't even act like there are buttons being pressed when i see them que up on antimicro.

Time for a second playthrough. I really enjoyed the game the first time around, but I'm curious to see if it holds up on a second playthrough when I already know what's gonna happen. At the very least, I've had more fun on a first run with this game than with any GF game since gen 5.

Picking Shulong this time because last time I picked Shyleon and the number of new water types before the postgame was almost none.

Gonna try to explore everything more thoroughly now and backtrack more often to see if the game is as linear and railroaded as I thought on a first run. Also gonna try to capture everything I see and go for 100% completion with this save. Minor nitpick: save choice options should be in the start screen and not in the launcher.

Sucks the game doesn't have a trading option yet. I don't want to be redeeming mystery gifts on every single save file from here on.

Just beat the first gym on my second playthrough.

Besides Shulong, I'm not sure I'm gonna keep any of these guys. I only want to use new Pokemon, so Ampharos and Trevenant are gone. Already used Electaburst last time, so it's gone this time. And I don't really like to use the regional bird alongside the starter because it makes my team look generic. Maybe I'll use until it evolves into Harrowk then switch it for something else. A shame I already used Rapidash last time since it's the only other good new electric type (the fish and Bremand are ass), and electric types are super good because sound is prevalent everywhere. Well, hopefully Shulong is enough to take care of them and I can get another type instead.

Also used Kungfur for a good while last playthrough so I know he's good, but I eventually switched him out for Hercurcules. Maybe I'll keep him around this time or maybe I'll switch him for something I wanna use more.

Above stuff like like D/P, X/Y, Sw/Sh, Let's Go and few other games I could never get into, but not above my favorites right now. Most people give it 7.5 or 8.5/10 score and it seems fair to me.

You can get them in the early game by trading magikarp to the stall merchant by the entrance to Stalletto town. He cycles through dive balls, net balls, and 5000 pokebux in that order.
I only gave him about a dozen or so, so there may be an upper limit with a final reward. Can anyone confirm?

1. Shulong,
2. Harrowk / Guitarist Bremand / Event Hercarcules
3. Medieval
4. Sasqwatch,
5. Scaracluo (eviolite) / Bassist Bremand / X Roserade/ X Rapidash
6. Donanas

Can't choose in 2 and 5. Feel free to redpill me on any mons in these. In 2 I just need another early mon and I know Harrowk can have Drizzle, but other than that I'm not really sold on it.

X Swirlix / Slurpuff from Sewers after last gym or X Smeargle / Chientilly from section of Route to the right of Milkiway City after getting Surf equivelent.
Both would fit your team and noone uses them because most anons usually have full team by then. Chientill has signature move alongside Sugar Rush. X Slurpuff is a good tank it seems.

Which part? For the one with the wanted posters and a Houndoom, there's a rock in the top right corner of the room you can check to find a hidden passage. Go down it, and it'll ask who the Houndoom belongs to. I forget the name, but it's the biker guy that starts with R. For the johto room bit, just spell out 'Ecruteak City'. For the picture room with notes all around the floor, ignore it and literally just check the safe. For the invisible floors room, talk to each prisoner and keep in mind what color crystal they're close to. Follow their directions (you might need to write the longer ones down) when you're at the section with their specific colored crystal. Once the prisoners escape, there's two double battles. One in the bottom left of the city (in the cemetary) and the other in the bottom right near the exit to the saloon.

Unfortunately not, postgame only mon. You might be able to mess around with the encounters.txt file and force one to pop up on the beginning routes or whatever, but I don't know jack shit about essentials beyond a quick google so idk if that's actually possible if you're not the one that made the file in the first place or whatever. Funny thing is I was wanting one too for my second run, whenever that'd be.
