In my opinion his ban from Smogon OU in XY/SM metagame was excessive, it's not so broken, do you agree?

XY/ORAS ban seemed fair enough, Ghost coverage was insane and there were endless good sets that were pretty different.
But yeah by the time SM came around the ban seemed excessive and I think the meta was ready for it, though ig it mightve been a nasty z move abuser

Substitute + Toxic is disgusting with better bulk, better attacking stats and a better King's Shield. Can't just stall out its moves as easily since shit like Corviknight + Toxapex cores didn't exist.

I do not agree, and suspect >>46262633 is on the right page that you did not play. It had better stats, better King's Shield, and better damage output relative to the meta compared to in the current meta that warrants Choice sets. In Gen 6, Sub Leftovers was deadly as >>46262650 brought up. Toxic let it out its best counter in Mandibuzz.

People would carry swords dance, to predict the switch, because this thing pretty much countered physical attacker, and they would have to switch because of how dumb this thing was

You for sure didn't play gen 6 at all

its not that it was broken in my opinion. i remember being anti ban but the arguments changed my mind. it really destroyed the balance of physical attackers in the tier and forced you to play passively or else you couldnt force it out. it also pursuit trapped like 1/10 of the mons in OU if it wasnt running special. if it was running special then you cannot beat it with physical attackers unless you play coin flip. you couldnt punish its passivity with toxic and you couldnt pursuit trap it all because of its steel typing and its king shield. it could beat most of its checks 1v1 because of king shield coin flips which made it uncompetitive. theres no skill in guessing wether you will be shadow balled or king shielded, its seemingly random. ghost was also an insanely oppressive type with like 3 switch ins in the whole tier that could reliably force out aegislash. toxic aegislash in my opinion put it over the edge because without any support this stupid mon could beat all of its checks besides blissey since it had to give up secret sword. depending on the set this thing could outlast all of its counters and still turn the game into a random chance fest every time its in.

It was broken.
You need to keep in mind that it had an effective BST of 720 if you played it right, a downright busted signature move, and a god-tier offensive and defensive typing.

it had 3 good sets. sub sd, pursuit, and special. it didnt have 16 different sets but stuff like sub sd lost to mandibuzz so it ran toxic over sub sometimes bluffing it being the pursuit set so that it could still sd sweep later int he game when mandibuzz was worn down for example. there were choiced sets but those were all lures and never really got used.
