>>46267260The underlying mesh is exactly the same. The texture is a 2d image that acts like a skin. No matter what the dimensions of the selected 2D image, it will automatically conform to any surface you place it on. The way these two elements of the object interact generally means that they are compartmentalized.
Changing the mesh/model necessitates changing the texture to ensure it still deforms properly. Changing the texture on its own does not affect the underlying topology of the model. The only thing that changed was a slight redraw of a texture that had already been UV-Mapped in 2013. Basically like converting DVD to Blu-Ray.
