Video quality for example, is on the verge of becoming too good for the human eye to detect a difference. At this point there will just be no need, no demand, for it to be improved, so it won't be done commercially. Research scientists and the cultist morons who obsess over "2.0 dude, 8K bro" will probably still guarantee some improvements for the sake of it though but it definitely won't be as big.
