LGPE is shit but only because it's just a downgraded FireRed, hell, it's a downgraded RBY, but it's still playable since Kanto is a tried and true region.
Unlike fucking Sun/Moon and Shit/Shat which don't even have a region, just hallways leading to flags, basically not even games.
So I'd take a Let's Go Johto over another generation of Pokemon. Ever.
That said, I wouldn't buy it, never bought anything that came out after SM.

FRLG are objectively better games but LGPE is fun for it's features like following Pokemon, riding Pokemon, and KANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in 3D.

I'm playing all three games right now at the same time for the "Definitive" Kanto experience. I just arrived in Celadon.

I liked the catching mechanics, but it takes away the incentive to battle trainers. Catching gets you more exp and you don't need money or EVs because the game is piss easy. Needs balancing.

Overworld encounters make the world feel small.
On the gabeboy screen, your character was just one tile out of hundreds, while on the DS or switch your character takes up 1/4 of the screen, and the pokemon models standing around just make it feel even smaller, like you're a guy in a Godzilla suit walking around a miniature of Kanto or wherever.
Overworld encounters in a turn based game regardless if they're even pulled off right which they aren't in Pokemon is retarded.

Bruh the Sevii Islands being a completely brand new area and Abilities being the battle system's meta for the past 15+ years alone make the games a better playing experience.

It was annoying playing Let's Go and having my Spearow get Sand Attacked to oblivion when that would never happen in any other Pokemon game since Gen 3. That's just a small example of how something like removing Abilities completely changes the game.

Let's Go wouldn't be so bad if they had wild battles AND the catching mechanic simultaneously and they didn't make it as barebones as gen 1. If it was FRLG (meaning it includes Sevii, Islands, abilities, and held items) but with following mons and updated to have mons and moves from gens 4-7, and an optional EXP share, the games would be fine

Sand Attack can work on flying types IIRC. The move you might be thinking of is Mud-Slap. Unlike Sand Attack, Mud-Slap deals damage (although not a lot) and has a 100% chance to lower accuracy. Sand Attack lowers accuracy but does not deal damage

Then the player is allowed to throw the balls at it
If I am not mistaken, this is how it works for the bird trio and Snorlax, but I have not played LGPE so correct me if I am wrong.
