In an interview with the new power rangers writer recently he said with the new season Hasbro decided to cater more towards adult fans because even though they're niche they're ultimately more vocal and end up shaping how the show is received. And that mentality is attached to a lot of kids media. If you make it good in general it will be better for it.
So why shouldn't that same mentality applied to Pokemon?
