Seriously, where did the meme start? Is there any reason to believe LG:DP won't have Johto and Sinnoh Megas along with a small batch of Gen 5/6 mons?

Wow, the posts in the other thread made you angry didn't they? In the games (the only canon that matters) megas were exclusive to Kalos until ORAS changed the lore. Megas are, by definition, a gimmick. You can add other words to make smaller categories that only fit other gimmicks and not megas, but at the end of the day they are still gimmicks and you are still coping.

It's not like common sense dictates that mega stones can just be picked up and carried into another region. That line was meant to confirm that Megas would literally only ever appear in Kalos despite ORAS being in development at the time.

I feel saying regional gimmick is a dishonest way to make Megas able to avoid admitting Megas are a gimmick. I feel Megas fuck over the idea of new evolutions considering how infinitely better megas are cause they made them busted shits. I'd bet if Megas weren't in gen 6 the dex probably would've had evos for Mawile, Manectric, Sableye, and other mons that were forced to get Megas to push the gimmick.

Nope. Evioite's a thing.
We'll never get another cross-gen evo unless it's for a regional variant or a mon that already has evos. Anything that can't use Eviolite now can't use Eviolite ever because GF is autistically consistent about this.

Except Z-Moves can't be used outside of Alola because <hamfisted plot device>.
Phyco mentions this. The spin-offs purposefully avoided using Z-Moves as a result. Masters even goes out of its way to explain that Sync Moves are not Z-Moves even when the names are derivative because of certain characters coming from Alola.

Also Rayquaza was said to mega evolve centuries before the games, surely Sycamore would've heard about that at some point of he was researching megas.
