I am embarrassingly old and probably shouldnt be here. I couldnt sleep the night before GS came out and me and my cousin would name our Rivals after each other and constantly call eachother with updates on how far into the game we were.

A sequel should be able to stand on its own while referencing what came before, not completely rely on previous entries to pretend it's good. Johto cannot stand on its own, therefore it fails as a game.

that was actually was one of the few reasonable agreements against GSC I've seen so I'll give an actual defense.

The fact that Team Rocket is merely a shell of its former self is a fair point. However, Team Rocket still does stuff (Slowpoke Well , Lake of Rage, Radio Tower TakeOver). Besides, GSC was never really about Team Rocket, GSC was just about exploring the world while befriending creatures and defeating powerful trainers along the way (culminating to the point where you literally defat the strongest trainer of all, Red (who is literally your past self if you played the RBY). GSC is about making your own journey than following a specific path. That's why there are so many optional daily/weekly events (Bug Catching Contest, Poke-thalon, Union Lapras, even stuff like the Clefairy Dance)

This is probably about pokemon distribution, which is fine, putting a team together of 6 johto pokemon is not hard like retards on /vp/ try to tell you. See people only say Johto's distribution is bad by making up rules like you can only use pokemon introduced in that gen or pokemon is rare therefore unusable. You're probably only told to use Kanto pokemon because Johtofans want you to shut up with your crap since Johto's Kanto selection isn't bad either.

Yes, a whole second region is great. People still love the Johto part of the game though. I think you're overstating how much people rely on Kanto for their arguments.
