If they did it, it would probably be a dozen new species of Pokemon that are fusions of existing Pokemon. You're right, obviously they would never allow us to get any of the 900 Pokemon and fuse them in any combination. Even putting their laziness aside, I'm not sure if it's even realistic to expect them to be able to do that, even if they were putting in maximum effort.

Slowpoke really needed a split evo line so that we could see what it would evolve into without a Shellder much like how we have Cloyster.

why are people so obsessed with getting a fusion gimmick? you'll get a handful of fusions that you need to use specific shillmon to make, like pikachu and eevee or charizard and mewtwo, and that's it.

Fusion would probably end up being some low effort trash like taking a select few pokemon and choosing another pokemon to get a version of them with that type (eg: fuse charizard with muk to get poison charizard).

That seems like it might be an interesting gimmick for a specific mon. Maybe some multicolored slime that has shifting abilities which are weaker than Ditto where it comes in all types and can combine , taking the first one's primary type and size, the later's secondary type and color.

The only real fusions are Kyurem and Necrozma's forms. Calyrex is just riding the horses. Mukcargo looks good tho
