Why do people want a shit game remake?

I remember when I was a kid I played Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and I was bored like never before! It's probably the worst Pokémon game I've ever played!

I don't understand why people want a Sinnoh remake!

A remake of a game is an opportunity to make it better.
Even though we know GameFreak doesn't take that opportunity, many fans hope and dream. There's a slight chance they might make something with the same principles as HGSS/ORAS instead of locking shit down like LGPE/FRLG. Honestly anything is better than the SM/SWSH style, so some people just want them to return to the style of gameplay the older games had and that's why they want it even if they didn't like DP.

We knew a Johto remake was coming, when the first scene of DP was talking about a "Red Guyarados found in Johto" kid, didn't have to ask.
This shit only started when the perennial whiners, the hoennbabs cried for *their* first pokémon game to be remade, not knowing the remakes were to add back deleted Gen I+II pokémon (Masuda said they had no plans for it even, till they saw people crying about it online) and weren't intended to be a thing.

Normally a remake is an opportunity to fix all the problems of the original game.
But ORAS was a pile of shit. And this wont have anything from Platinum, which wasnt even that much of an improvement after Battle Area and speed.

I like Gen 4, but I don't really see the point. A lot of mechanics changed by the time of FR/LG and HG/SS to make those worthwhile compared to the original gameboy games. By the time of OR/AS, the reasoning was already pretty tenuous. Even by that point, the only substantial difference was the physical/special split.
By the time of D/P, most of the important mechanics have already been set in stone. Okay sure, there's no fairy type. Whatever. Not enough reason to justify a remake.

Of course, if a remake entailed actually actually putting in a bunch of new content, that'd be one thing. But OR/AS demonstrates that this will never be the case again.

Like LGPE it's gonna be a graphical overhaul (and not even that impressive of one) on top of babbyfying the base games. Basically you're playing them to experience Sinnoh is visually more grand and bubbly way. Online connectivity will be like SWSH rather than the tedious FC system from the DS.

They're gonna add new shit though. Even ORAS made changes. Delta episode, soaring, islands, changes to the story, whatever. It's just a remake. HGSS was just a huge remake in ambition, hardware, and gameplay mechanics.

What would be the point of buying a DP remake if it contains less content than the original? You can literally play the original games on an emulator, and at a faster speed if the speed is an issue for you.

The only improvement they could make is adding more pokemon variety to Sinnoh and pokeride instead of HM's. Now, if it's a sequel or has a lot of original content I'll be interested.
