>>46318404>>46318417Meganium: A gentle giant that blends plant and animal smoothly. The head/neck basically take place of the stigma/style of the flower so that its impossible to tell where one starts and the other begins.
Typhlosion: Combines the ferocity of badgers and volcanos. Uses the natural defense of quilled mammals as the basis for its elemental power. All of its official art and every 2-D sprite invokes the imagery of an erupting volcano.
Feraligatr: An armored bipedal alligator with traits of sharks. Despite being combination of two apex predator's, still looks like a friendly companion. Honestly this shouldn't even need defending since it has the same Kaijumon aesthetic as most of Gen I.
Smeargle: A job mon without looking humanoid. A creative Sketch gimmick that's aged so well it was regular seen in Ubers until Dexit.
Hoothoot/Noctowl: Subtly incorporates clock designs with owls (with Hoothoot as a wall clock and Noctowl as a grandfather clock). which fits due to them only appearing at night to show the day/night mechanic something that Gen I KANTOO couldn't handle.
Unown: A cool hieroglyphs pokemon connected to an archeological site in the pokemon-verse providing interesting lore. Also has multiple forms which works with the catch 'em all philosophy Pokémon had before they stated pulling Dexit crap.
Stantler: An natural-looking Pokémon that plays on the idea of a deer-scarer. The route it's found on references to a real place where deer are common.
Bellosum: An adorable dancer that imitates human behavior without being a creepy humanoid. The only reason its color doesn't make sense any more is because Game Freak had to change it because to controversy caused by Jynx from KANTOOO.
Mareep Line: Smooth transition from sheep to original ambiguous monster. Each member is unique yet clearly related to each other.
>>46318123 said it best. Kanto had cool stuff but Johto was when Game Freak actually started knowing what they were doing.
