Other than the whole Flint situation lacking fire types, the biggest issue is the lack of coomerbait.

Literally just speedbumps on the way to Cynthia in every sense of the word.

Nah, they are a unique bunch.
Aaron is the only Bug type E4.
Bertha has an interesting gimmick of being a reverse Agatha.
Flint is cool.
Lucian is the only forgettable one since he feels like a Will clone (who was a Lorelei clone to begin with).

They're much better than the Kalos and Hoenn E4.
